The presentation will address the goals of the project to provide long term protection and color and gloss retention. The presentation will begin with the design process, including condition assessment and test patches to help select a coating system that provides the goals of the project. Accessibility to the stays was a unique challenge for the project. A special apparatus was designed to eliminate the need for large scaffolding and provides a process that reduces tie in of coats on the stay cables. The presentation will discuss the installation process of the apparatus, the surface preparation and coating of the stay cables, and the inspection process. Finally, the presentation will show pictures of the initial condition, completion appearance, and five-year performance of the first array completed.
