Helmuth Sarmiento Klapper

Baker Hughes

Dr. Helmuth Sarmiento Klapper is a Senior Principal Materials Science and Engineering at Baker Hughes. With over 15 years of experience in the energy sector. He has 6 granted patents on corrosion engineering and protection and is the author of 90+ papers and technical presentations. Dr. Sarmiento Klapper is a chemical engineer with a Ph.D. on Mechanical Engineering from the University of Magdeburg in Germany. Prior to joining Baker Hughes, he did a post-doc at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in Berlin. He is also an active member of the European Federation of Corrosion and AMPP among others.
