Along with MASc Degree in materials engineering, Ahmad has around 55 publications as peer-reviewed journal papers, magazine articles, and conference papers. Ahmad's field experience and research focus is on corrosion, metallurgical degradations, cracking, coatings, and risk-based inspection (RBI). Ahmad has invited numerous research grants worth CAD $ 2,000,000 to date. Ahmad is the serving chair of the technical symposium for AMPP for the past 5 years. Ahmad received the MP Innovation of the year Award from AMPP during 2023 & 2025 for Innovations aimed at CUI mitigation. Ahmad has also, received the most-impactful publication award (for the year 2021) from AMPP and NACE Graduate Student Book award (for year 2019). Recently, Ahmad is nominated for the emerging professional by ASTM G01 (i.e., The standards custodian committee on corrosion of metals) as well as Engineering Award by Engineers Nova Scotia. Ahmad holds dual Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license from Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and Engineers Nova Scotia. Finally, Ahmad is a voting and contributing member of standards refining committees with API, ASTM, ASME, and AMPP.
