Dr. Boian T. Alexandrov is a Research Professor in the department of Materials Science and Engineering and Director of the Center for Weldability Evaluation at The Ohio State University. His primary research interests are in the physical metallurgy of welding and additive manufacturing, focusing on better understanding of related metallurgical phenomena through physical and computational simulations and advanced characterization, and on evaluation of weldability, printability, and service performance of welds and additively manufactured structures in advanced alloys. Dr. Alexandrov is as a Fellow of the International Institute of Welding, of the American Society of Materials International, and of the American Welding Society.
