Yolanda De-Abreu earned her B.S. in Materials Engineering from Simón Bolívar University in 1990 and her Ph.D. from the National Polytechnic Institute in Toulouse, France, in 1995. She was a tenured professor at USB (1995–2003), a postdoctoral researcher at Ohio University (2003–2005), and a Metallurgy and Corrosion Consultant for Lloyd’s Register Capstone (2006–2010). From 2010 to 2019, she served as a Corporate Scientist at SLB, specializing in electrochemical techniques, metallurgy, and failure analysis.
