Marcelo T. G. de Sampaio holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Fluminense (UFF), where he also completed his Master's and PhD in Chemistry. During [his/her] graduate studies he was working on the analysis of deleterious phases in duplex and superduplex stainless steels, with an emphasis on the correlation between microstructure and electrochemical properties. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Non-Destructive Testing, Corrosion and Welding (LNDC) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), developing research focused on corrosion and corrosion mechanisms in oil and gas sector applications.
