Luis Perdomo-Hurtado is a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering at UT San Antonio (USA), specializing in materials degradation particularly hydrogen embrittlement. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Colombia, and two M.Sc one in Materials Science and Engineering from the Autonomous University of Mexico, and other in Mechanical Engineering from UT San Antonio (USA). His expertise spans advanced materials characterization combined with hands-on experimental work, from designing and running tests to collecting and curating high-quality datasets. He applies robust modeling and data analysis to interpret complex microstructural and electrochemical responses. In corrosion science, he performs and analyzes electrochemical tests and corrosion datasets, integrating experimental evidence with quantitative models to understand and predict materials degradation.
