Jorge Escribano is a doctoral candidate in Civil Engineering at UTSA, now in his fifth year, working in the Corrosion Lab under Dr. Brendy Rincon Troconis and Dr. Oladis Troconis. His research focuses on sustainable corrosion mitigation for reinforced concrete and emerging construction materials. He evaluates organic inhibitors, including BPT, in synthetic pore solutions and mortar systems, and develops electrochemical methods to quantify fastener corrosion in magnesium oxychloride boards. His work integrates electrochemical testing, materials characterization, and long term durability assessment to address corrosion challenges in infrastructure and support the development of sustainable protection strategies.
