Eugene Caldona is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials at North Dakota State University. He received his BS Chemical Engineering from Saint Louis University (Philippines), MS and PhD Chemical Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman, and PhD Chemistry from Mississippi State University. He did post-doctoral work at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He is the recipient of the 2024 Sedriks Seed Grant Award by the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP). His research interests include corrosion science, surface chemistry, adhesion science, additive manufacturing, polymers, and smart coatings.
