
The EFC is a federation of about 50 organisations (Member Societies and Affiliate Members) and an International Branch with interests in corrosion, based in 25 different countries within Europe and beyond. Taken together, its Member Societies represent a community of more than 25,000 engineers and scientists. Founded in 1955, its aim is to advance the science of corrosion and protection of materials by promoting cooperation in Europe and collaboration internationally. 24 EFC Working Parties and 2 Task Forces address various aspects of corrosion and its prevention in many sectors. They prepare reports, guidelines, drafts standards and proceeding for publication in the highly regarded EFC series of “Green Books” EUROCORR, the EFC’s annual conference is the flagship event of the European corrosion calendar. This year’s event, scheduled on 6-10 September in Dublin, Ireland, will be the 44th, in the series.
