Jose Vera holds a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering and a PhD degree in Chemistry (Electrochemistry and Corrosion). Dr. Vera is currently a senior principal engineer at DNV, based in the Houston office, and holds the position of senior program manager, responsible for developing technology and programs to address corrosion and erosion needs in the oil and gas industry as well as in carbon capture, utilization, transport and storage (CCUS) projects. He has authored or co-authored over 100 technical publications and has been granted five US and Europe patents. He is the recipient of 2009 NACE International Fellow Award for long-time distinguished contributions in the fields of corrosion and its prevention.
