Dr. Arumugam, a Senior Materials Engineer at Oceanit, is the technical lead in development of advanced functional materials for marine, aerospace, and oil and gas applications. His research interests encompass nanomaterials, surface treatment, corrosion prevention, and electrochemical energy storage. Dr. Arumugam’s recent efforts include the development of an advanced surface treatment for corrosion prevention for the DOD and aviation industry, hydrogen resistant surface treatment for the Department of Energy and advanced electrode/electrolyte materials for lithium batteries. Dr. Arumugam holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Michigan Technological University (2009) and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering from Central Electrochemical Research Institute, India (2002). Furthermore, he has authored 15 publications and holds 14 patents.
