She earned her Bachelor's degree in Chemical Science from the ITESM Campus Monterrey, followed by a Master's and PhD in Advanced Technology from CICATA- IPN. Her research has centered on corrosion science, beginning with the study of hybrid polymers and later focusing on manganese- based materials for solide oxide fuel cells. At the National Corrosion Lab at Texas A&M University, she has been working on the corrosion studies and techniques from epoxy- based coatings, rotating disk and rotating cylinder electrode (RDE/RCE) techniques, ionic liquids, and additively manufactured materials
