Michael Leahy is a corrosion engineer and chartered scientist with 15 years' experience spanning both academia and industry. Currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College in London, he researches mitigation strategies in corrosion caused by organochlorine contaminants in crude oil, as well as corrosion by contaminants in CCUS applications. Previously, he was a Lead Corrosion Scientist at Baker Hughes, spending 10 years working on applied research, development, and technical support of upstream oil and gas corrosion inhibitors and their application.
