Dr. Steven Kopitzke is the Corrosion Science team lead for the Material Protection Technology branch at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) in Patuxent River, MD. His research background includes local environment risk assessments, electrochemistry, coating evaluation test method development, and combined effects testing for corrosion research. He has been working at NAWCAD for 9 years, leading research into corrosion affecting naval aircraft and maintenance practices. His current areas of research include combined effects testing and developing new techniques and tools for outdoor corrosion monitoring & modeling.
